School Song

A World of Difference by Joseph and Pamela Martin is our school song, adopted in 1996, our first year at Willow Ridge.  Children, staff and everyone else in attendance sing this song at the end of all of our music programs and other school assemblies like the Talent Show and the All School Sing.  The lyrics below lead you to understand the importance this song has had to us over the years.

World of Difference…………….Pamela & Joseph Martin

It takes the sunshine and the rain to help a garden grow.

The sun and moon together work to make the ocean flow.

Our strength is in our differences, the gifts we have to share,

and together we can build a better world for people everywhere.

Chorus

We’re the colors of the rainbow; we’re the stars up in the sky.

No two of us are quite the same and here’s the reason why:

We all have a purpose and a special place to serve

for it takes a world of differences to make a difference in our world.

Mountains need the valleys, the water needs the sand,

and we all need each other to lend a helping hand.

We must work together; we can’t do it alone.

Yes, we all need each other to make this house a home.

Chorus

  1. Hello there,

I am an elementary music teacher, and I was wondering if you could email me an mp3 of the piano accompaniment for this song. We are using this song for our Winter Tea, and this is the best version I have heard. Thank you much!

  2. “World of Difference” is a beautiful song, for sure. I think the best thing to do would be to order a copy of the song since you are performing it. It is composed by Joseph and Pamela Martin and published by Shawnee Press, Inc. Here is a link to JW Pepper, where I order most of my music. It should take you directly to the song.
If not, type in “World of Difference” in the song search at JW Pepper. http://www.jwpepper.com/1967686.item#.Vl3Dg2SrRz8
    I hope this helps.
