Willow Ridge Elementary Performance Schedule 2017 – 2018

Informances and performances are opportunities for children to share what they are learning and their growth as a musician, with their families.  Many children will have “extra parts” to learn for their performance and all children will have songs and song lyrics to memorize.  You may find out what your child needs to learn for the performance by watching for lyrics to come home in the Friday folder (1st and 2nd graders) or ask your 3rd through 6th grader to show you their music folder a few weeks before their program date.  Please support their efforts by listening to their songs and helping your child with the memorization of the lyric and “lines” they may have for the program.  You may also look to this website for “sing-a-long” songs for program practice listed by grade level.  

Unless otherwise stipulated, children should arrive in the music room 15 minutes before their performance time, ready to warm up.  Typically we are dressed in our “Sunday best” for a performance.

The performance is an opportunity for parents to evaluate their child’s progress.  Please put your child’s performance on your calendar and make it a priority to be there on that evening.  It means so much to your child to have you there.  The children do their absolute best when they perform for their families.  We have seen this time and time again.

We look forward to seeing you at Willow Ridge Elementary on your child’s program night.  Keep your eye on the school newsletter, front page, left hand column, for important dates, including your child’s music program.  Occasionally we have to change the date of a program.  This will be clearly stated in this part of the school newsletter.
